Biography
My name is Tara Alise Cox and I am an actor, writer, and comedian who you may find directing kids in musicals or performing rock songs for crowds of 4,000 at Oktoberfest. My recent creation, a series of musical parody videos, has been shared by Rosie O’Donnell, Leslie Jones, and Shania Twain, garnering over 1 million views. My favorite theatre credits include undocumented activist Cynthia Felix in East West Player’s “Theatre for Youth” tour, Vanessa in “In the Heights,” and Dromio of Syracuse in "Comedy of Errors," and Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls,” for which she received the Goldie award for “Best Lead Actress in a Musical.” I have a BA in Theater from UCLA, study improv with UCB, and perform in an educational rock show for kids. In addition to writing parody songs and sketches, I have written an hour long musical pilot and am working on a 30min comedic one.Tara has acted in short films and comedic videos for Funny or Die and Buzzfeed. She currently stars in an environmental rock show for kids, where she gets to teach through music and movement how they can save the planet!
